Marmalade Cocktails
With Pear Lemon Sage White Pepper or Lime Marmalades
Gimlet inspired…
Shake 1.5 c ice cubes with 1.5 oz. citrus marmalade, 4 oz. gin, 1.25 oz. freshly squeezed lemon juice, strain and pour into cocktail or champagne glass. Garnish: sage leaf or sprig of lavender/rosemary.
With Seville Orange Rum or Bergamot Orange Marmalades
Whiskey Sour inspired…
Vigorously stir together 3.5 oz Bourbon, 2 T fresh squeezed lime juice, 2 T marmalade, 1 T Honey Simple (1:1 Honey:Water ratio). (Totally up to you whether you wish to strain out the orange rind as you pour the cocktail. Some folks like getting to chew on the candy bits as they sip and this is a sipper! It’s boozy and punchy). Pour/strain onto crushed ice (crushed is important so you get the proper dilution) in a tumbler or “double rocks” glass shape. Garnish with a cocktail cherries.
